I've started my prep! it's a bit all over the place at the moment, but once i've got a few more bingo bits done it'll fall into place. I am also asking the community to help me pick what planet to work on first! Eight planets listed, please comment on the article (or here) and let me know which one you find most interesting! :D

I've answered 13 prompts for Spooktober, which means the badge is mine! Come check out some new articles, new stubs, and a bunch of re-written content from 2022.
I'm still going to answer the rest of the prompts, but super happy to have gotten this done so quickly! Please send me links to articles you've really enjoyed writing this Spooktober, I want to read!

AAAA!!
I can't believe this, I've hit a million page views!! I really can't believe it, I'm so proud of my work, what I've created on World Anvil, and it means the world that people enjoy what I write and like checking it out. I bet a percentage of those views are internet bots, but still!!
To top that, I've just hit 2,000 articles in the Yonderverse! This is my main project and where I pour most of my love in. It's now got over a million words and 2,000 articles! Thank you to everyone who's ever supported my world, in any way shape or form, it means the WORLD to me.

Summer Camp Silver!
I'm so happy to have hit silver this morning, having written sixteen new articles. I'm most proud of this article on religion in the Ancient Aphroditian Empire; religion is not something I usually write about, so to be inspired to make this was amazing. I'm fully embracing Camp Chill this year, and not adding any additional stress with personal requirements like previous years. I used to make myself hit, say, 500 - 1000 words for each article, with art, and I'd try and go for all 40 prompts. Not this year! I'm writing as much as I feel like for each article. This seems obvious in hindsight, but I have a habit of trying to overachieve with challenges like this, and it rarely ends well.
Anyone read some articles from other writers they've really enjoyed? Please share! Have you written something you're particularly proud of? Share too!

Come prep for Summer Camp with me!
Weeks 1 and 2 of the Summer Camp prep are all done, and I'm so excited for the challenge to begin! I've been eagerly waiting for months, gnawing at the bars of my cage. While I'm waiting, I've been updating my Yonderverse Glossary - It's already gigantic, and I've not even scratched the surface! (8,000+ words so far, and less than 200/1947 articles have been checked for needed references)
What's everyone's Summer Camp goals? Diamond, like me, or something else? I'm really excited to write lots of small articles to hit that badge, because I think it'll be difficult for me to write as much, this year. But I've got high hopes!

My Entry to the Hitchhiker's Guide To Your World Challenge!
Really pleased with how this is turning out, and it's not 100% finished yet either! I still have plenty more artwork to do, and plenty more words to write. But let's learn all about the A to Zoo, what enclosures the keeper's recommend checking out, events to go to, and some surprise arrivals at the zoo!
How's everyone else finding the challenge?

The Yonderverse's Homepage has been updated! Hope the new design is an improvement. It was last updated in January 2024 (I think), and this world has grown SO much since then. It's even won two awards since then!
I'm going to continue tweaking this homepage for a long while, but I'm happy with what I've managed to put together. After all, this is a life-long project, and it will continue to evolve for years and years. Anyways, I hope people enjoy!

I just wrote an article on what a million charms would get you in various planets in the Yonderverse. Charms are the most used currency in this world, but it got me wondering - things must cost a lot more or less on different planets, right? So, I decided to explore it a little bit!
I'd love to see other people answer this question in their own worldbuilding!

Huge congratulations, all of the Worldbuilding Awards winners!! What an incredible lineup of winners, my goodness. If you haven't seen the winners yet, check out the Learn section page while we wait for the showcase page to update!
I'm so proud to say my entry, the Glassy Trench, won the Wondrous Nature award <3 It feels like a full circle moment for me. Child me, who rolled around in fields and forests watching insects hop about, birdwatching with my grandad, and peering into rockpools to look at the pretty little crabs in the water, would be ecstatic to know he's now telling the stories he always dreamed of telling, creating worlds full of life, and sharing his imagination with the world. Thank you to everyone who saw something in my article, and as a writer <3

The World Anvil Worldbuilding Awards winners are announced in just a few hours now...
Good luck to all of the nominees! It's a huge honour to be nominated, and I am proud of everyone. I'm in such good company nominated alongside friends and writers I look up to, and I'm super excited to hear who wins. I know even if I don't win, another wonderful writer is going to win, so there's no loss in this situation!
This is my fourth time entering the Worldbuilding Awards, and the first time I've been nominated for an article! It was always a dream of mine to have an article nominated, so I'm proud of myself <3 It's very important to be proud of oneself, fight those brain goblins!
A huuuuuge thank you to the World Anvil team for organising these awards once more, and for judging all of the participants! It must have been a massive ordeal, so thank you.
I hope to see just as tough competition next year!

Customise your Yonderverse notifications!
I've introduced a new subscriber group, to send notifications for stubs and small articles! If you join, you'll get a couple extra notifications here and there for very small articles, maybe 100-300 words, on interesting articles I didn't want to send a notification to every follower for!
So for those who are interested in keeping up with the Yonderverse, feel free to join! Thank you to all of my followers, past, present, and future, for your support <3
ALSO - less than a week until WAWA results!! So exciteddddd totally not SUPER nervous or anything nooooo

Happy WAnniversary to meeeee!
I've been on this wonderful site for five years as of today! Come so far, over a million words, 850,000 page views (I bet a lot of those are bots or something), and made so many friends near and dear to me <3
Thank you to everyone who's chatted with me about worldbuilding in the last five years! This community gives me so much life and so much inspiration, I cannot thank you all enough.
Also put my intro article as the banner because for some reason I can't search for any images, and I'm not uploading a copy. So, if you feel like it, come check out my world! A huge science fantasy world, winner of Best World back in the 2024 Worldbuilding Awards <3

Our solar system has been re-imagined!
I don't typically make a community post to share a single article, but I thought it'd be fun to do so for this one. I'm really happy with how it turned out, especially since I've gotten it all done today!
Which planet is your favourite?

Getting ready for WAWA!
I've submitted everything I plan on entering, and I'm so excited! I've posted all of my entries in my little showcase article above, please feel free to check it out! I'm really proud of my work this year <3
And if you want to check out other people's overview pages, check out this nifty page in the World of Worlds! I assembled it last night, and anyone can submit their overview pages just by commenting the articleblock!
Good luck to everyone participating <3

I drew some art for Rumengol! Please give him some love and support, and check out this musical science fantasy world! :D

New Year, New Mochi
2026 will bring us good fortune and I'm certain of it.
Some exciting news, I'm now a Fabled Legend on World Anvil! Made the upgrade today, I'm now a pretty pink colour in the Discord, I have a snazzy badge in my badge collection, and best of all, I get access to , something I'll never use! I upgraded purely for my love of the site <3
Next, I'd like to share my New Year's Resolutions article. I recapped my entire 2025, which started out strong but I struggled in the last six months. This year, my focus is on taking enough breaks for me to feel happy and content, as well as still being able to produce lots of work I'm really proud of. I've also showcased five worlds that caught my attention during WorldEmber! <3
WorldEmber has now come to a close, and it was a bit of a rocky one for me. I've now compiled all of my entries into this article below, and now I feel like I can fully let WorldEmber go. I wasn't all that pleased with my progress this WorldEmber until I made this article, and saw I actually got a fair bit done!
Merry 2026mas everyone, I hope we all have a lovely year!

Ohohohoho! NEW WORLD!
I'm so excited to share a new world, Spaceway Apothecary! You, the reader, are exploring an apothecary you stumbled across in your ventures throughout the Yonderverse.
The owner, a witch, seems like an eclectic fella. Throughout this story, feelings, your lack of knowledge on magic, and the awkward, cramped shop floor brings you two closer together.
This world is going to be full of cute gay romance because yasssss that's fun to write, that's fun to read, and it's fun giggling and kicking your feet as these little gay characters awkwardly interact and realise their feelings for one another.
Also it's SO refreshing to be working on the Yonderverse still, but from a completely different angle. This is now the sixth sub-world I've made for the Yonderverse, including the A to Zoo, Late Jurassic Earth, Creatures of the Yonderverse, and two others that are private (and Yonderverse Taxonomy, I suppose, but that could either be deleted or merged with my actual world). Either way, it's just so delightful to make another world, have it build off my main project, yet be so different.
I really hope people enjoy!
also PLEASE check out lou's new world, Star Anise!! It's such a beautiful, emotional concept, I highly recommend this.

WorldEmber is coming... here's what I've got planned!
I'm super excited for WorldEmber this year, it's the first year I plan to focus on a side-world. The A to Zoo is a joy to work on, but I've not felt inspired to work on it in a long time. A recent overhaul has kickstarted my motivation for the project again, and so I'm planning on carrying that straight into WorldEmber!
But enough about me, I'm really making this journal post to share some pledges from worlds I'm super excited to see more of this WorldEmber.
Firstly, we have Blue Fairy, who is focusing on the aquatic continent Ulűri̋qi̋. I really love aquatic worldbuilding and I'm super excited to see Blue's beautiful art shine through her articles. Elaqitan is a superb world and I really encourage people to check it out!
Elaqitan is also at 99 followers, will you be the lucky No. 100?
My next prep article is by Those2nerds, who plans to work on wow that's a lot of stars. wowtalos is one of my favourite worlds, with its worldbuilding on people, politics, and the connections they form.
They plan on writing important articles, and I've got my fingers crossed we get to read more planet-related articles. Please check out wowtalos and this prep article!
SanZera will always have a special place in my heart, as one of the first worlds I found on WA. I love the human made art made by Aster, it's so colourful and precious and sdnsjdnsjdnaj I love it so much. Please check out this world if you love awesome glowing animals!
17
Happy Birthday to me! As a little celebration, I've spent my day working on a small overhaul of my Fun Facts page, which is my private article redirect. I then felt the urge to re-draw my global banner, as I hated the previous version.
I'm really happy with what I've whipped up, I feel the Yonderverse heading into a new era, the world growing into something I'm truly beyond proud of. I've always wanted to draw a pastel rainbow black hole, and I really think I did a good job with it! I've got so many plans for my world moving forward. I'm still hard at work with the Overhaul, which has been in motion since January this year. Getting to go back to my earliest work, reflect on it, appreciate it, while also tearing it up and starting fresh, has been such a rewarding experience.
Thank you to everyone who's shown me support on this journey. I've been on World Anvil almost five years now, I started when I was in high school and now I'm an adult with a full time job. Time has flown by, and the one thing that's remained the same is the WA community. I've made so many close friends here, I've learnt so many things and met so many amazing people. So, thank you all <3
I'll also sneakily post my WorldEmber prep in here, as I'm continuing to prepare for it throughout the month!

WorldEmber is coming!
I am so excited for WorldEmber this year! I'm happy with what I've gotten done this year, but I could've done more. I could always do more. I keep telling myself that, but I have to remember that this year I've started my first full time job, a volunteer placement at a zoo (alongside another a sanctuary), I no longer live with parents, so I have less and less time and money to myself.
I'm really excited to end this year on a high note. I've spent a lot of October working hard behind the scenes on overhauling the A to Zoo, once again. This time I'm settling on what I've got.
It's been my dream, ever since I was a child, to own a zoo. It's incredibly unrealistic, but nevertheless I used to dream of it all the time. In fact, there are still drafted plans of enclosures tucked away in a box in my attic somewhere. It occurred to me at some point this year that I possess all of the abilities to make my own zoo... except it'd be entirely digital. But that's better than nothing!
So here we are, my fourth (?) overhaul of the A to Zoo. The homepage is fresh and looking better than ever, I have overhauled navigation of this world, and overall I'm just aiming for it to resemble a real zoo website as much as possible. Expect tickets pages, staff/volunteer hiring pages, and a bunch of other exciting pages throughout November, to really bring this vision to life.
If you've made it this far, thank you so much for reading. I love World Anvil, and I'm loving this new UI update. I've been very vocal about my dislike of modals and pop-ups, and you know what, I still stand by that. I am still not a fan of the community modal in particular, and I'm more than happy to admit that. I think it's important to be honest about your thoughts on these updates. But be polite. I've not been polite in the past and it got me nowhere. It came from a place of anger, but also a place of love. I love World Anvil so much, it angered me to think I'd struggle to use the site, and I unfairly took some of that out on the Team. Admitting that is my way of moving past it.
But I went into this Athena update with a positive attitude, and I've been loving it. There are still things I'm not a fan of, but I've sent polite feedback to the team and some of my suggestions have even been implemented! Please be polite. the World Anvil Team is a small but passionate one. Yes, it's questionable, releasing intentionally unfinished updates to the entire site in the hopes of people sending polite feedback, but it's not nice to be rude. They are trying their absolute best, and doing one hell of a job. I can't imagine how stressful managing an entire website must be.
I ought to stop rambling on now, so once again, thank you for reading this! I'm going to take November to relax a little after a busy October. Reflect on my journey as a worldbuilder, see how I can improve on myself and my abilities. Love you all!

Spooktober Badge Acquired!
We're a week into Spooktober, and I have been soaring through my first 13 prompts by writing stub articles on pretty flowers, each one referencing a friend on World Anvil! I will always take any chance I can to reference the wonderful people on this site, in my own writing, I think it's a really fun thing to do.
Aside from these pretty flowers, I've written two full articles, one on mirehorns, apex predator buffalos, and Nalmaria, a spider-infested planet! I've also written a little prose snippet, There's No Hope, because I'm in dire need of more practice writing prose!
Lots more to come while Spooktober is running, I've plenty of exciting, spooky ideas, and I can't wait to make some awesome things for people to check out!
If you'd like to stay updated on my Spooktober shenanigans, feel free to follow the Yonderverse, we're getting closer and closer to 400 followers!
Oh, and I've now got 500 species articles in my world! A bizarre, yet impressive achievement :)

Summer Camp is officially OVER!
Massive congratulations to all of the winners this Summer Camp! Tough competition this year. It was so nice to see such a variety in unique authors winning, but props to Imagica, for winning three prompts and Most Inspiring World, with Crux Umbra!
I'm super happy to have won a prompt, myself! My Magical Surge article brought me a win this year, and I'm very proud of that. Unfortunately this wasn't one of my better years in Summer Camp, I'm not feeling overly proud of my work as a whole.
The rules I initially set for myself at the beginning of the event pushed me to my limits, causing me to struggle just one week into the competition. That led me to basically flop about the rest of July and August, struggling to write anything truly meaningful. Next year I'm going to go back to what I do best, which is writing shorter, concise articles. I've been told I write short articles well, which reassures me!
And now we have a fun new challenge to look forward to! Elves VS Aliens? I'm Team Aliens, which one are you?

The Yonderverse has hit 1 million words!!
Y'all, I don't even know what to say. I've been working so hard on the Yonderverse since I joined World Anvil, 4 years, 4 months, and a week ago. AKA 1,590 days ago.
That's an average of 628 words per day. Not entirely accurate, considering I've missed many days here and there, but I've been pretty darn consistent with this project, taking a week off at most from it at any one time.
I can't thank people enough for supporting my silly little project. Guess I can't call it little anymore! But seriously though, the Yonderverse is by far the best thing I've ever created. I've never given up this much time and effort on a single project, and it is easily the most impressive thing I've achieved.
Like, I've created a world. Everything you read is mine, I've written this. I've thought of hundreds of interesting planets, peoples, thousands of creatures, created conflicts, love, between characters and organisations. Sometimes I stop and think about it, and I realise just how powerful being a worldbuilder is.
But yeah, I'm so excited! I can't wait to see where this world goes. Last night I hit Diamond in this year's Summer Camp, so I'll be polishing my existing entries until the deadline. While I'm judging my prompt, I'll be working on some exciting commissions I've got right now! Aaaand while I'm doing both of those, I'm hopping right back into the Yonderverse Overhaul and polishing up all the old, crap parts of my world. I'll be making more time to write brand new content while I'm polishing old stuff, as I need to find a better balance. But that's next month's problem!
Happy writing everyone!
29
The past few weeks haven't been very productive, I've been in what might be a little writer's block, and I've not had the energy nor motivation to get any words written at all.
Buuuuut, I got an art trade with Hatwolf done! I'm so pleased with how it turned out, it was great practice drawing environments (I don't do it much, shockingly).
Speaking of art, I have updated my commissions! Instead of just doing species commissions, I'll now draw anything (except NSFW stuff) <3 Here's a link to my Ko-Fi!

SUMMER CAMP HYPE!
I am soooo excited for Summer Camp this year! The assignments have been lining up perfectly with the Yonderverse Overhaul, too, which is lovely. We've not had a single competition this year so far (excluding WAWA, which doesn't count because it did not involve writing anything), which I find kind of crazy and I've really missed a proper World Anvil competition.
Anyways, come check out my pledge! Aiming for diamond again, to keep my streak ever since my first Summer Camp. Feel free to follow the Yonderverse too, if you want to see what I get up to next month! <3

To celebrate Pride Month this year, Rin and I will be hosting the second Show Your Colors Challenge! The challenge starts this Sunday (June 1st), and ends the 30th. Rin and I are looking for worldbuilding made with love for the queer community - articles that trend positive, hopeful, or uplifting, even in the face of conflict and struggle.
There is a minimum of 300 words, but no maximum. It isn't a judged competition either, so no stress! We will share some of our favourite entries after Summer Camp! I hope people enjoy this challenge <3

I've been on World Anvil for four years now!
My 4th WAnniversary was yesterday, March 21st. I spent the day reminiscing and reflecting on my time on World Anvil, because it's been nothing short of life-changing. I don't throw that word around a lot, but in this case it's deserving.
I first joined World Anvil when in secondary/high school - I've now finished that, gone through college, and I'm now working full time. I've grown as a person, as a writer and as a creator, going from someone with absolutely no experience with writing to taking home an award and being nominated for four more (might win more awards this WAWA! Fingers crossed!) I've made such close, beloved friends, and I've written practically a million words across all of my worlds combined. The Yonderverse is currently at around 925k, and I'm hoping to hit that by the end of the year.
I can't thank people enough for their love and support over these years. I've met some incredible people through this website, and the Yonderverse is the single greatest thing I've ever put my mind to. I can't wait to see what the future brings!
32
I don't actively promote it much, but I do art commissions! I specialise in drawing creatures, so that's all my commissions are for at the moment. You can find it all on my Ko-Fi page!
Oh and also, I have an ongoing feature suggestion! I'd like to see community posts (and their notifications) have a title again. I've found community posts get a lot less engagement nowadays, and I think the absence of a title is part of the reason why D: please upvote if you'd like to see the title re-added to community posts, and see community engagement increase!
And finally, I have been nominated for two awards in the World Anvil Worldbuilding Awards! The A to Zoo is nominated for Most Beautiful World, and the Map of Norrab is nominated for the Artist's Cartography Award! Please fill out the google form and consider voting for me in these two categories! I'm so passionate and proud of my worldbuilding! <3

I've made two shortlists in the World Anvil Worldbuilding Awards!!
I'm so incredibly honoured to be in the running for the Most Beautiful World Award and the Artist's Cartography Award! The A to Zoo and the Map of Norrab are two entries I'm extremely proud of, and for them to be finalists means the world to me.
Remember to cast your votes using this google form, and please consider voting for my two entries! Congratulations on everyone who submitted things to #WAWA (you are so amazing, it's a scary thing to do <3), congratulations to all of the finalists, and grab your hammer... and GO WORLDBUILD!

February Unofficial Challenge: Love!
It's Friendship February on World Anvil, a time for unofficial challenges to take the spotlight! Huddled under a single, rose-coloured spotlight is the 12 in 12 challenge, a year-long unofficial challenge ran by H.B. Bacon, with a different theme every month!
I am judging the challenge in February, and the theme is Love! Given Valentine's Day takes place this month, the theme felt fitting. Also, I kinda wanted to pick something other than species, and it felt right!
I hope to see people enjoy and enter this challenge! The theme is very broad, no template nor word count restrictions, so go crazy!

On the road to 1 million words!
The Yonderverse has juuuust hit 900,000 words, I'm so close to 1 million! I think I'll hit it in the later half of 2025, unless I can speed it up a bit. I mean, I'm in no rush, but I definitely want to get there by the end of the year.
Hope everyone is having a good start to the year, is reflecting well on 2024, and is prepping for the Worldbuilding Awards!

Happy New Year everyone!
What a crazy year it has been! IRL has had its ups and downs for me, but my time on World Anvil has been nothing short of spectacular. My crowning achievement was winning the Best World award in the Worldbuilding Awards, for the Yonderverse.
It'd be incredible if I could achieve even more in 2025! I'm so excited to see where things go, to read amazing content from other people, and make lots of new friends <3

Help me decide what to work on this WorldEmber!
This WorldEmber I am asking the community for guidance, specifically on what I shall work on first this WorldEmber. With how my brain works, I will gravitate towards several projects throughout December, but for the start of the event I want to have a solid idea on what to write. That's where you guys come in!
In my prep article I have given a short description of fifteen planets, and anyone can comment which one is their favourite. Whichever gets the most comments, I'll write about first! Some of these planets are very fleshed out already, with over a hundred articles, and others have only ever been mentioned once in my world!

The Splash Challenge is now over!
Last Tuesday, to celebrate my birthday and just for a bit of fun, I released a week-long unofficial challenge! The theme was water, as opposed to Tyrdal's Flashfire Challenge, where the theme was water. It closed midnight last night, and I ended up with 29 entries!! That's far more than I was expecting for a shorter challenge, and I'm so grateful for the people who took the time to write an entry, and felt inspired to do so.
In other news, I've been working hard preparing for WorldEmber! My pledge is growing as the weeks go by. How excited are people for WorldEmber? I'm FERAL at the moment!

Dive into your world with a #SplashChallenge !
For the next week, my unofficial Splash Challenge is running! It's a quick thing to get people in the worldbuilding mood before the real heat kicks in with WorldEmber. There's not really any open spaces for unofficial challenges to run anymore, so I thought instead of forever pushing it back, why not just release it!
So the start date for the Splash Challenge is today (my birthday!), and I am asking you to literally just write an article relating to water, in any way you like! It's very simple :) Good luck people!
P.S. I will have a badge designed for this challenge (participants and a winner's badge), but that may be up tomorrow or the day after, considering I still need to set up my drawing tablet with my new laptop. It's a whole mess right now, but I'm getting it sorted!

Help me decide what to work on for #WorldEmber :D
Preparations have started for the best competition of the year, and in my prep article I've asked people to help me choose what to focus on! I have hundreds of planets in my world, and I've chosen a lucky 15 for people to pick from. Now I can't focus on one project like this for long, so I'll definitely write about many different planets during WorldEmber! But I'd like a plan for what to work on first, haha.
You can also follow my world to see updates to my prep article, as well as new worldbuilding articles!

What I've been working on this Spooktober!
I've been a busy bee this month, working hard on articles for Spooktober. I'm not sure if I'll end up answering every single prompt - right now I have answered 14 prompts, but for some I have written several articles.
Since we can only submit Generic articles for Spooktober, I've been writing actual entries using whatever templates I like, and creating Generic articles, only containing articleblocks, and submitting that to Spooktober. That way I can continue writing and utilising article template features, but also get myself a Spooktober badge!
As for my entries, I've written quite a range of articles, not just thematically but also size-wise. I have a few stubs (>50 words), short articles (50-300 words), and a handful of decently sized articles (300+). You can find my Spooktober hub below!
It is not Spooktober related, but the recent surge of new people over on Bluesky has encouraged me to revive my account. I joined Bluesky over a year ago but quickly forgot about my account, but seeing everyone flee the hellscape that is Twitter made me want to check it out again. And my god, I love it over there.

Come explore the Yonderverse through my new personalised interactive feature!
With over a month of planning and half a month of actual designing and implementing into my world, I'm so happy to have finally published the Yonderverse Stickerbook! It is an interactive in-world system - you search the Yonderverse and its articles to find special stickers of each planet, you click on a button and it gets added to 'Your Stickerbook'!
As it has just been published today, not all stickers are available. I need to expand more of my world before I can release stickers for more planets, so keep an eye out! I really hope people enjoy this, I've had so much fun making it <3
This is of course inspired by WA's best, TJ Trewin and Stormbril, who have their own versions. Explore Your Journal in the world of JOY, and check out the Trinket Chest in the world of Cathedris!

Working hard on my Institutions of Learning entry!
I've been hard at work on improving my article for World Anvil's current challenge! Over the past few weekends I've been adding more and more to my article, and just a little bit ago I added a bunch of clues to figure out a password to a secret article! I'm very excited, never done this before, and I'm excited to add more interactivity to my world and this challenge entry. Hope people enjoy! How's the challenge going for everyone else?

Institutions of Learning!
This is such a fun challenge! I can't wait to see what everybody writes, and seeing sneak peeks around various WA-related discord servers, I am very excited to see what everyone has in store.
Here's my entry! I'm getting it published early so I can continue editing it here and there, as I want to really go for a win!

300 Spacefarers!!
First of all I am so sorry for all these journal posts as of late, I didn't plan on hitting so many milestones! I want to thank everyone for following the Yonderverse, as it's now hit 300 Spacefarers!
I do all my writing for fun, and the Yonderverse has been my little project for the past 3 and a half years. It means the world to me that people enjoy it, and want to follow along. <3

Crazy Summer Camp!!
I can't believe I won a prompt AND human of the match!! I am so ecstatic, and because I won with a species! I've always loved writing my species but never won a species prompt or anything, it feels SO GOOD to have finally done so!! Congrats to every winner!
Feel free to check out my winning species below, and go check out all of the SC24 winners too!

Thank you all for 10,000 likes!
I don't often check the stats on my author page, but when I saw my likes were creeping up to this massive milestone, I kept a close eye on it. I hit 10,000 likes earlier today, and I want to thank everyone for ever liking any one of my articles. Never thought in a million years I'd hit this! This community is the best <3
I'm also getting close to 300 followers... :eyes:

On the way to 1 million words!
A few days ago the Yonderverse hit 800,000 words! This is a huge achievement and it's crazy my world is that big. Each month so far this year I've managed to write around 20,000 words (In July I only achieved 16k), so I'm pretty steady on my writing and I hope this continues in the future.
I might make a journal post when I hit 900,000 words, but I will definitely make a big post when I hit the grand 1 million words. Thank you to everyone who has checked out my world, left a like or a nice comment on an article, followed, given feedback, or chatted to me on discord! This community is amazing!

I've hit Diamond!!
I am super happy to have hit diamond for my fourth Summer Camp in a row. I'm very happy with most of my articles! I think I've written some great stuff, especially in the first wave. The last two waves have been more of a struggle, but I wasn't too surprised, given I started a new job and it's been very physically demanding and left me with little time during the week to work. That, and my worldbuilding process has changed drastically in the last year, and a lot of the prompts haven't really clicked like they have in previous years.
Here are my favourite entries I've written!Planktonic Storm
Naja Avanas
Galanti-Karkhala War
Habita
Titanic Tortonid
Milky Way Institute of Biology, Taxonomy, and Conservation
Wire Dancer
Goliath Blackfield Mussel
Mochi's Summer Camp Kill Count
So many of my articles ended up a lot darker than I originally planned - mostly in the first wave. I thought I'd quickly run through all of my articles and count how many deaths are mentioned!
Planktonic Storm: ~5 million (per storm)
Scourge of Earth: 10 billion
Zoological Collections Openings License: ~ 2 million
Galanti-Karkhala War: 6 million
Blackfield Pearl Harvester (the amateur harvester did not make it...)
Total: 10 billion+

Goooold!
Unfortunately, the climb to Gold was a bit of a tough one. I've really struggled to reach 24 articles, I think partly because I am so busy nowadays, so tired when I get home from work that I don't have the energy to write, and partly because something about the prompts just isn't clicking like it used to, in previous years. Nevertheless, I managed it!
I am not the proudest of these articles, almost all of these 8 barely exceed 300 words, and they deserve so much more. I've still been making sure I like the concept of the articles, at the very least.
Here are the next 8 articles, that got me to Gold!
A technology used for defense or protection (Silver Wave): Plankton Filtration Mask
A tradition that gives comfort (Silver Wave): VIP Penguin Experience!
A sub-culture considered larger-than-life by some (Silver Wave): Anti-Oanie
A charity or other organization focused around doing good (Silver Wave): Milky Way Institute of Biology, Taxonomy, and Conservation (best article this round)
An evil spirit or divine antagonist: Malai, Goddess of Duality
Slang or a language associated with a religion or belief: Specter Speak
The practices and ceremonies of worship: Summoning Wheat Watchers
A hybrid species intentionally bred: Draconic Pigeons #mochievements #SummerCamp

Silver is mine!
I've had little time this week to write anything, but I've still managed to hit silver! I am currently at 17 prompts, and hoping to get all 20 done by this evening, when the gold prompts drop. Because I've been so busy, I haven't had time to write many proper articles, so most are just neatly formatted, short word dumps.
Buuuuut, if you've seen my last journal post, I whipped up a new world! Habita is a sci-fi world where a group of humans have discovered a mysterious floating biodome in space. It will be a fun challenge, the writing style is far different to my other worlds! And since I've now written in 4 different worlds for Summer Camp, I qualify for Rumengol's Adequate Wandering Worldsmith badge!
Here are my entries that got me to the silver badge! Plus my seventeenth article, because I don't want to leave it out.
A tumultuous region prone to disasters (copper wave): Siltlands
A sickness that caused societal upheaval (copper wave): Scourge of Earth
A settlement considered a refuge: Fic Saca
A naturally sheltered place: Titan's Corner
A building considered a refuge to the world: Habita
A unit dedicated to protecting something or someone: Too Cuddly To Kill
A personal item that keeps you safe: Icy Apple
A tradition that gives comfort: VIP Penguin Experience!

Whipped up a brand new world for Summer Camp!
So, it is not advised to make a brand new world and make a new CSS theme in the middle of Summer Camp, but I'm incredibly extra and I did exactly that. Welcome to Habita, a sci-fi world with a very small scope, all about a mysterious abandoned space station!
I look forward to writing more in this world, but I can't promise I will write as much in it as I do my other worlds. It's more of a fun side-project to challenge myself. Hope you enjoy!

I've hit Copper!
I didn't expect to write so fast! Eight prompts have been answered, and I intend on writing the last two as well. I'm working on fleshing out areas of my world I've been working on the past few months, and I've already written a lot of important information that I probably never would've gotten down otherwise!
Thank you to everyone who has commented on one of my entries so far, your comments have absolutely made my week <3
Here are my entries! If there's any that really interested you and you'd love to learn more, let me know! I will be going back and editing/improving all of these articles before Summer Camp ends.
Large-scale natural disaster: Planktonic Storm
A character that has gone through great change: Naja Avanas
A document that has changed the course of history: Zoological Collections Openings Licence
A displaced people: Sacaethean Refugees
A conflict with a changing environment: Galanti-Karkhala War

Just a few articles are public right now, as I plan on rewriting/editing everything I currently have in the Yonderverse. I haven't felt motivated to work on this world much in the last six months, and hopefully this complete revamp (and Summer Camp) will get me back to working on this world more regularly!
Hope people enjoy the new CSS, I've been working on it literally non-stop since Monday night.
Also there very well might be some CSS that I've overlooked, so if you see something that looks out of place, please let me know!
Hope you all have a great day! :D

YONDERVERSE? BEST WORLD?!
I genuinely just stared and cried when I heard my name. I cannot believe the Yonderverse has been crowned Best World. I've been on World Anvil for three or so years now, and before I had *zero* skills or experience writing anything. My world has grown so much, I've grown so much, and I've gained so many beloved friends that I talk to on a daily basis, that I can't imagine being without.
I distinctly remember, around when I first joined WA, seeing people win accolades, Summer Camp prompts, and other events, and me not even thinking that I could possibly win them. As time went on, I improved (even winning Most Improved Worldbuilder in SC23), and yet winning anything in the Worldbuilding Awards seemed so far out of reach. This truly would not have happened if it wasn't for the incredible community around this website, with talents from across the world, all kinds of backgrounds. I've learnt how to express myself through writing and that's something I'll always be grateful for.
I am also so sorry I couldn't attend the livestream! I had urgent family business to tend to, but I still made enough time to scream my sincerest congratulations to all of the winners. So this counts as my "acceptance speech" of sorts. I don't know if this little journal post is just a complete emotional mess of words, but I wanted to write something xD
Love you all, huge congrats to the other winners, and I hope everyone has a great day!

Yonderverse Iceberg of Madness
I made this silly little thing to represent the creepier, spookier, more mysterious side to my world, and the farther down, things get creepier, spookier, and even more mysterious. And in doing so, it made me realise that I need so much more of this! I'd also LOVE to see people make their own versions of this for their worlds!

Worldbuilding Ecosystems!
I present to everyone, the first article in a series, all about worldbuilding ecosystems! I've been wanting to make something like this for a while, and I was originally going to write an article on writing species specifically, but I thought why not make articles about ecosystems as a whole!
Anyone who knows me knows how crazy I am about nature, wildlife, and everything related, and how passionate I am about it. Hell, I have almost four hundred species articles in the Yonderverse - almost a third of my total amount of articles.
The plan moving forwards is to add to this series, but if people really seem to enjoy it, then it will become a priority. I love this lil community and WA got me into writing, and I feel it's only right I try and return the favour by providing resources that can help people with their own creations!

I've also submitted some of my best work to the World Anvil Worldbuilding Awards 2024! I'm really proud of these articles, the timeline, the map, and of course, the Yonderverse, and I hope you'll consider voting for these! I've never won one of these awards before, it would be incredible :D

A to Zoo's Birthday and Yonderverse CSS Upgrade!
The A to Zoo is turning 1 year old today! Thank you for all the love on this world, I've written over 50,000 words, made the coolest homepage ever, and it's just an exciting project that I can take my time with. I don't write all that fast in the world but every article I put out I put my all into. <3
The Yonderverse has also seen a little update today - content in articles should now center itself on larger screens, while the page background expands. Thank you Annie Stein for guiding me in the right direction while making that! Slowly but surely, the Yonderverse is becoming more and more epic and I thank you all for supporting my endeavours there as well :)
Have a great day everyone!

Hooooooooooooooo NEW WORLD! Sort of!
Friday night I got the most random urge to revive an old world, Terra Ava. This world is inhabited by all kinds of bird people, other birds, and some more birds. This world is almost a year old now, but as soon as I created it and wrote my first article, all the inspiration I had for it just died. So here we are. Fresh coat of paint, all old articles are gone and never coming back, and it's time to make something awesome!
This last year or so I've felt like I've somewhat lost what worldbuilding is all about. To me, worldbuilding is about expression, about fun and joy. I want to enjoy what I write - don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the Yonderverse and that isn't going anywhere, but both the Yonderverse and the A to Zoo have so much pressure behind them, and I feel like I'm constantly having to impress everyone when I write anything.
This world will hopefully take away that pressure. It is just a fun little world I go to when I need a break and want to do some lighthearted worldbuilding. I hope people enjoy this world, but I won't let it pressure me ;)
I also have two articles prepared already!

Cabinet of Curiosities in the Yonderverse
Come and explore the office space of an oanie, my world's main antagonist species. These inter-galactic colonisers are not as evil as they appear from the outside - they do have a softer side. But don't forget that they've killed hundreds of intelligent species. So they're not the best of people.
I have answered ten prompts in this article so far, all with art! I've also written a quick stub for the A to Zoo, portals, and there shall be lots more coming for that world this month >:)

*NEW* Yonderverse Cover! For the last time! Maybe!
I swear to god I'm actually finished with this iteration of the Yonderverse cover. Can't say it won't get remade in a few years, but for now I'm done! I am in love with this. I don't like to pat myself on the back that much, but I am really proud of this and I think it came out wonderfully. This is a thank you for two hundred followers on my world and all the support I've received these past few years on World Anvil. I would not be here if it weren't for you guys. I am truly so honoured that I've been able to inspire people in this community, as you lot have done the same for me <3

New Yonderverse Cover!
In celebration of 200 followers, I drew a new cover for the Yonderverse! I've been wanting to do this for a little bit, but because it's such an important task I wanted to do it well, and obviously it's a scary big task so I just put it off. I really like it! I struggled to fill that gap in the middle, but after lots of feedback and a few different designs I settled with leaving it blank. The Yonderverse may be full of life, as seen by such vivid planets, but it is also isolating at times.
I tried to represent my different art styles for different planets, from realism (the star) to a more simple style (the ringed planet). I really hope people like this! Thank you everyone for your support of my world, it means the world to me and I'm so happy people enjoy my stuff <3
P.S. I really do love making these journal posts :D

WOOOOO!! 10k achieved a couple of days ago, badge secured! Would like to set 25k or 50k as a "goal", but not push myself to earn it if it comes a struggle. Here's a collection of my articles I've made so far!
I've made a range of articles so far this month, from enhanced stubs around 100-200 words long, to even reaching 2000+ words in one article.
Also, I've been featured today on the WorldEmber 2023 Advent Calendar!! Check it out here!

A New Unofficial Challenge for WorldEmber!
Helloooo everyone! I am so excited for this WorldEmber, not just for all the writing I want to do but for all of the writing the community is going to do. This year I am hosting my first ever unofficial challenge, obviously geared towards species. In this challenge, I would like to see people write at least one species. Preferably about one of the nine prompts in my article, but that's not mandatory. Just have fun and write cool things!
Animals are my life, conservation is something I strongly believe in and support, and I want to spread my love for animals and all things related. I love seeing the natural world in worldbuilding, it's always such a fun and diverse topic to explore.
If you want to participate in this challenge and make journal posts about it, use the #worldemberspecieschallenge hashtag! (it's a long one, sorry, I can't think of anything shorter that's specific enough.) #worldember #worldember2023 #species #unofficialchallenge #mochievements

WorldEmber in the Yonderverse
WorldEmber is coming!!
I am so excited, this will be my third WorldEmber. I am planning on fleshing out an entire solar system, the Cheem System. Each planet in this solar system is inspired by an Anvilite that I've grown close to in this past year. I thought it's a cute little project to do and WorldEmber will be the best thing to get the ball rolling, as the ball has been stationary since I made the Cheem System article in April.
Can't wait to see what everyone gets up to this WorldEmber! Below is a link to my pledge :D
P.S. It's my birthday today :P
